Student Project Showcase

Explore how students transform data into actionable insights through real-world industry projects.

Project Name: Analysis of AI Chatbot
Completed by: Bipin Panthi – Master of Data Science
Partner Organisation: HubShift

Problem Addressed:
The NDIS and aged care ecosystem involves complex communication, strict compliance requirements, and coordination among multiple stakeholders such as providers, support workers, participants, and plan managers. Manual processes can lead to inefficiencies, errors in documentation, and delays in decision-making.

Solution:
This project analyses the HubShift AI Chatbot, an intelligent multi-role virtual assistant designed to automate communication, support compliance, and streamline workforce coordination. Powered by advanced large language models (LLMs) and workflow automation, the chatbot functions as a 24/7 digital operations assistant. The study evaluates its effectiveness in automating routine communication, improving documentation accuracy, and enhancing decision-making within a regulated care environment.

Project Name: Data Management Dashboard
Completed by: Pei-Yu Chen – Master of Data Science
Partner Organisation: Robinson Ryan

Problem Addressed:
Organizations often struggle to efficiently manage and transform large volumes of data into meaningful insights. Existing data processes may lack integration, consistency, and real-time visibility, limiting the effectiveness of data-driven decision-making.

Solution:
This project involves the continuation and enhancement of an existing end-to-end data pipeline that supports a dashboard-style data product for a client. The student contributes across the full pipeline, applying data engineering techniques to ingest, transform, and validate data. Additionally, data science and analytics methods are used to generate insights and improve dashboard functionality, enabling more accurate, timely, and actionable decision-making.

Project Name: LMS Content Deployment with Data Awareness
Completed by: Paras Dahal – Master of Data Science
Partner Organisation: Learning Vault

Problem Addressed:
Learning management systems (LMS) are critical for delivering training in the vocational education sector, yet many platforms lack structured content deployment and integrated data awareness features. This limits clients’ ability to effectively deliver courses and analyse student performance.

Solution:
This project focuses on uploading and building proprietary training content into client LMS platforms, ensuring seamless deployment of full qualifications. It also integrates data awareness elements to support the tracking and analysis of student performance. By enhancing LMS functionality and content delivery, the project supports Learning Vault’s operational needs and expands its service offerings within the vocational education market.
